Terms of use

Updated 17 August 2026 · Applies to idleexam.com · Australia

1. What this site is

IdleExam is an editorial site. It publishes reviews and notes about free-to-play casual games distributed on Google Play. Everything on these pages is the opinion of the editors who played the games, formed at a particular time and on particular devices. It is information, not advice, and it is not a promise about how a game will behave for you.

By using idleexam.com you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

2. Advertising disclosure

The site is free to read. It is funded in two ways: advertising, which includes promotional links to Google Play listings and advertising units placed by partners, and voluntary reader plans. Where a link or a block is placed commercially, it is labelled as advertising on the page.

Advertising has no effect on our editorial judgement. No studio can buy a higher rating, a kinder verdict or a better position in the running order, and no advertiser sees a review before it is published. Ratings shown next to each game are quoted from Google Play and are not ours to adjust.

3. No affiliation

IdleExam is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google LLC, Google Play, or any of the studios named on this site, including Playrix, Wooga, G5 Entertainment, Melsoft Games Ltd, BitMango and Mytona. Game names, logos, artwork and screenshots are the property of their respective owners and are shown here for identification and commentary under fair dealing.

4. Intellectual property

The text, structure, layout and selection of material on this site are the work of the IdleExam desk and are protected by copyright. You may quote a short passage with a clear reference to the page it came from. Republishing a whole review, or reproducing the layout, requires our written permission. Icons and screenshots remain the property of the studios that made them.

5. Reader plans

5.1 What is being subscribed to

A reader plan is a subscription to editorial material on this website: extended reviews, early access to each issue, mechanics breakdowns and, on the yearly plan, the archive of past issues. A plan gives access to writing on idleexam.com only. It does not unlock anything inside any game, it is not connected to in-app purchases, and it grants no benefit within Google Play.

5.2 Prices and term

The monthly plan is A$4.90 and runs for one month at a time. The yearly plan is A$39 and runs for twelve months. Prices are shown in Australian dollars and include GST where it applies. A plan renews automatically at the end of each term unless it is cancelled before the renewal date. If a price changes, existing subscribers are told at least thirty days in advance and the new price applies only from the following term.

5.3 Activation status

Billing is not open yet. Our payment provider is in the activation stage, so the buttons on the plans section add you to the reading list and nothing more. This site has no checkout, asks for no card details and takes no payment. We will write to you before any charge is ever made, and you are free to do nothing.

5.4 Cancellation and refunds

A plan can be cancelled at any time from the link in any dispatch or by writing to the desk. Cancellation stops the next renewal; access continues until the end of the term already paid for. If you cancel a yearly plan within fourteen days of the start of a term and have not downloaded the archive, we will refund that term in full. After fourteen days we refund the unused whole months on request. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including a remedy where a service is not supplied as described.

6. Newsletter and notifications

The reading list is optional and free. You may leave it at any time using the link in any message. Browser notifications are delivered through OneSignal once you allow them and can be switched off in your browser settings without affecting the newsletter. How we handle these details is set out in the privacy notice.

7. Using the site properly

Please do not attempt to interfere with the site, to access parts of it that are not public, to scrape it at a rate that degrades service for others, or to use its content to build a competing catalogue. We may block access where this happens.

8. External links

Links to Google Play and other outside pages are provided for convenience. We do not control those pages and are not responsible for their content, their availability or the terms they apply. Read the store listing and the studio's own terms before installing anything.

9. Availability and accuracy

We aim to keep the site available and the information current, but games change constantly: updates alter mechanics, store ratings move, and titles are sometimes withdrawn. Information may therefore be out of date by the time you read it. The site is provided on an "as is" basis and, to the extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties about accuracy, availability or fitness for a particular purpose.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, IdleExam is not liable for loss arising from your use of this site or from any game you choose to install. Certain guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law cannot be excluded; where a guarantee applies and we are permitted to limit our liability, our liability is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and the courts of Australia have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top of the page shows when they last changed, and material changes are described in the next dispatch. Questions about anything here can go to the editorial contact: desk@idleexam.com.
